1). RANSOMWARE: Former NCSC Chief Executive calls for ban on Ransomware payments. Writing in The Times, Ciaran Martin, the NCSCs first Chief Executive is advocating a total ban on Ransomware victims paying Cyber criminals, writing that a ban would go some way to putting a stop to the ever-increasing proliferation of Ransomware.

WHAT IS RANSOMWARE? Ransomware works on the same principal as Kidnapping and uses increasingly sophisticated encryption to hold a victim’s information at ransom, rendering it inaccessible until the attacker receives a payment.

2). INNOVATION: ECSO LAUNCHES EUROPEAN DIGITAL INNOVATION HUBS NETWORK – TWG. ECSO The European Cyber Security Organisation has launched a Thematic Working Group (TWG) with a goal of promoting Cybersecurity as a precondition and basis for a successful digitalisation, to support advancements in boosting Cybersecurity postures, and support local cybersecurity ecosystems.  Learn More /…

ECSO contributes to European Sovereignty, Autonomy & strengthening Europe’s cyber-resilience. Given the key position of SMEs in the digital economy, the focus will be on their secure digital transformation.

3). EC: European Commission incorporates CYSSME into its Digital Funding Program. The EC has incorporated the newly established CYSSME (CyberSecurity for SMEs) collaboration into its Digital Europe funding program. CYSSME has been granted a three-year mandate and a substantial subsidy package to aid in enhancing the cybersecurity of European.

CYSSME project can start with an intake interview and initial cybersecurity audit by experienced experts. Companies that already know what they want and need straight away are equally well supported.
