THREAT INTEL: MICROSOFT – Microsoft Issues MISMATCHED Digital Certificate. Last Month Microsoft issued a MISMATCHED digital Certificate on over 900 linked domains to an IP address in Dublin which includes over a dozen MX servers.
In addition, the servers are using deprecated protocols that were first exploited in 2012 and reached their end of life in 2021.
The NHS are among many others that have hundreds of subdomains linked to the TLD using this exposed IP. Many are suffering constant attacks. The latest against NHS Blood & Transplant reported to be due to a cyberattack upon Synnovis.
This latest attack upon the NHS has caused chaos, cancelled operations, and placed lives at risk. To say we are appalled and horrified at the negligence shown here is an understatement. We have spent hours trying to inform the NHS and authorities.
Internet Asset security including DNS and PKI when sub optimal, Not Secure, or Insecure is placing lives at risk. This is truly shocking Microsoft.
