Cybercrime specialists will uncover the newest online dangers facing businesses in a series of lectures designed to help them defend against fraud. Organized by the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust’s Stay Safe Online team, the talks will feature Paul Maskall, fraud and cybercrime prevention manager at UK Finance, and Catriona Still, head of fraud prevention at UK Finance’s card and payment crime unit. Paul, a familiar face on BBC Crimewatch Live, Rip Off Britain, and BBC Radio 1Xtra, will join Catriona, who collaborates closely with the UK banking sector, to provide insights into combating cybercrime. The first lecture, scheduled for February 20, will cover how technology exposes businesses to risk, identifying and understanding cyber threats, recognizing manipulation tactics, and developing effective defence strategies. Future sessions will delve into cutting-edge topics, including: AI and Deepfake Exploitation, The Psychology of Manipulation Real-World Case Studies with the final lecture, set for May 22, will include case studies and an in-depth analysis of a real-world fraud scenario. Each one-hour lecture begins at 9:15 a.m. and costs £35, with a networking opportunity afterward. Participants booking all four lectures will enjoy a discounted rate of £30 per session. This series provides invaluable insights for businesses looking to safeguard against evolving online threats.
