1). COMPUTER MISUSE ACT: UK Government Considers Overhaul of Computer Misuse Act to Tackle Cybercrime. The new UK government, led by Sir Keir Starmer, has committed to elevating cybersecurity to a national security priority and is “considering all options” to address cybercrime, according to Security Minister Dan Jarvis. This includes a potential comprehensive review of the 1990 Computer Misuse Act, Jarvis noted. Originally introduced to combat cyber-related offenses, the Act has seen several amendments, including updates through the Police and Justice Act in 2006, adjustments following the 2011 News International phone hacking scandal, and further refinements under the Serious Crime Act in 2015.
2). BUSINESS CYBERSECURITY: AV-Comparatives Releases Latest Business Cybersecurity Test Results.
