1). THREAT INTEL: HACKING – Over 33,000 People in the UK Fell Victim to Hacks in the Past Year Action Fraud, the UK’s national reporting center for fraud and cybercrime, has issued a warning that over 33,000 individuals have reported their online accounts being hacked within the last year. The majority of these breaches were due to phishing schemes and other forms of social engineering. One common tactic highlighted by Action Fraud involves attackers using compromised accounts to target the victim’s friends. For more details, visit: Action Fraud.

2). UK CYBERSECURITY & RESILIENCE ACT: Upcoming UK Cyber Security and Resilience Bill Aims to Strengthen National Defenses. In the July 2024 King’s Speech, the UK government revealed plans to introduce a Cyber Security and Resilience Bill aimed at enhancing the nation’s defenses against cyber threats and safeguarding critical public services. This move comes in response to growing Cyberattacks by both criminal organizations and state actors, which have disrupted public infrastructure & services. Currently, the UK’s Cyber regulations are currently governed by NIS1
