1). CYBER SKILLS SHORTAGE: Cybersecurity Stress Levels Rise as Attacks Intensify – ISACA Report Reveals. According to ISACA’s newly released 2024 State of Cybersecurity report, 66% of cybersecurity professionals report that their roles are more stressful now than they were five years ago. This heightened pressure reflects the growing challenges posed by modern cyber threats, with 38% of organizations experiencing a rise in cyberattacks—up from 31% last year. The most common attack methods include social engineering (19%), malware (13%), unpatched systems (11%), and Denial of Service (11%).
2). EU DIGITAL IDENTITY: Advancing Secure and Trusted Electronic Identification through Certification. The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), in collaboration with the European Commission, has been tasked with supporting the certification of the EU Digital Identity Wallets (EUDI). Aligned with Regulation (EU) 2024/1183, which aims to establish the European Digital Identity Framework, the European Commission has called on ENISA to assist in certifying the EUDI Wallets. This includes the development of a candidate European cybersecurity certification scheme under the Cybersecurity Act.
3). PHISHING & Understanding the Threat of Phishing. – CyberKPI: Phishing, a deceptive cybercrime technique, poses a significant threat to Small SMEs globally, impacting them financially and operationally.
