1). THREAT INTEL: ENISA Threat Landscape 2024 – Seven prime cybersecurity threats were identified in the 2024 Report, with threats against availability topping the chart and followed by ransomware and threats against data, and the report provides a relevant deep-dive on each one of them by analysing several thousand publicly reported Cybersecurity incidents and events. With 2024 being the year that NIS2 Directive comes into force, an analysis of the Cybersecurity threat landscape across different sectors is provided.

2). UK: SKILLS GAP – Around 44% of UK businesses face skills gaps in fundamental technical cybersecurity areas, according to the latest government report. The study examined 637,000 businesses and found that 27% (or 390,000) lack advanced skills, such as penetration testing. Gaps in incident management skills have also surged, rising from 27% in 2020 to 48% in 2024. These findings come from the UK Department for Science, Innovation & Technology’s (DSIT) Cyber Security Skills in the UK Labour Market 2024 report, which is now in its sixth edition.
