EU: PAYMENT FRAUD TOPS OUT AT €4.3BN – European financial regulators, the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the European Central Bank (ECB) have revealed that payment fraud across the European Economic Area (EEA) amounted to a staggering €4.3 billion in 2022, with an additional €2.0 billion recorded in just the first half of 2023. The comprehensive analysis offers the most detailed picture yet of the evolving landscape of payment fraud in Europe…

2). UK: ACTION FRAUD – NEW UK CYBERCRIME REPORTING DELAYED UNTIL 2025. Action Fraud, the much-maligned reporting center for fraud and financially motivated Cybercrime in Britain, has been pushed back to 2025. This is the second time the date has been pushed back. Two companies have been contracted to deliver the replacement service, PwC and Capita, neither of which have provided an explanation for the latest delay. The new service will be rebranded, although a name is yet to be selected …
