1). DATA PROTECTION: United Kingdom – UK Data Protection
Bill aligns with the EUs GDPR
The UK has now published a Data Protection Bill, which is intended to “make data protection laws fit for the digital age…”  The initiative parodies several other EU Member States that have introduced similar bills to implement GDPR. The Bill reinforces the message that businesses in the UK should continue to prepare for GDPR compliance, as the protocols & obligations are largely the same.

2). MSMEs – MSMEs HIGHLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO ATTACK – MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Sized Enterprises) are the backbone of the EU with 99% of European businesses designated as SMEs. They go on to provide jobs to more than 85 million European citizens. The UKs figures are a little different with a total of 5.6 million Small Businesses at the start of 2023. Compared with the previous year, the private sector business population increased by 0.8% (46,000 businesses) according to the Federation of Small Business.
