Think your phone is dormant when it is turned off, think again.

Mobile Phones passively and continuously connect to dozens, hundreds of websites even when turned off.

It is critical then for those websites, often connected to popular social media Apps must be responsible to ensure the websites they enable such connectivity too, are maintaining secure domains and DNS records and servers.

Failing to do so surely makes them liable for any intrusion or consequential cyber crime.

”A single App can connect to dozens of websites while unused. An idle phone will make thousands of DNS queries per day. If you install the Reddit app on your iPhone, start it once, and leave it without even logging in or interacting, it will connect to 30 different domains.”

It is imperative for everyone to realize the real dangers of downloading Apps. Technology presents exposure to every user and it is the responsibility of technology providers to protect and secure their users. Currently this is far from the case.
