Welcome to Today’s Edition of CYBERInsights – My Daily Roundup of the Latest European SME Cybersecurity News including: 1).  MS Mismatched Certificates 2). Supply Chain Report 3). The VPN Explained

1). THREAT INTEL: MICROSOFT – Our Guest Contributor Andy Jenkinson | Group CEO Cybersec Innovation Partners reported – Microsoft Issues MISMATCHED Digital Certificate. Last Month Microsoft issued a MISMATCHED digital Certificate on over 900 linked domains to an IP address in Dublin which includes over a dozen MX servers. In addition, the servers are using deprecated protocols that were first exploited in 2012 and reached their end of life in 2021.

2). THREAT INTEL: SUPPLY CHAIN – The majority of global organisations (54%) suffered a software supply chain attack over the past year, and most are unable to keep up with the growing risk landscape. This is according to “The State of Software Supply Chain Security Risk” report, released today by Synopsys, Inc. and the Ponemon Institute, which also found that 50% of organisations took more than a month to respond to an attack.

3). VPN – Understanding The Virtual Private Network (VPN) A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is an essential technology for SMEs as it enables secure and private communication over a public network.
