Welcome to Today’s Edition of CYBERInsights – My Daily Roundup of the Latest European SME Cybersecurity News including: 1). Teenage Hacker Arrested 2). SMEs Must do more 3). What is MFA/2FA?

1). CHATNOIR TEENAGE HACKER ARRESTED: The unnamed adolescent who has now been arrested in France is thought to be the user behind the Hacker handles “ChatNoir” and “Casquette” is reported to be a primary mover in the Epsilon hacking group responsible for the theft of millions of records from various European technology companies. The Epsilon group who bizarrely boast about the criminal exploits on their own “X” (Formerly Twitter) Channel and across Telegram.

2). SMEs must do more to combat the growing threat of cyber attacks – The ICO (Information Commissioners Office) has called on all SMEs to take simple steps to boost their Cybersecurity and protect the personal information they hold, amid the growing threat of cyber attacks. Quoting their own trend data the Commissioner has revealed more organisations than ever are experiencing Cybersecurity breaches that put people’s personal information at risk.

3). WHAT IS MFA (2FA) Cyber KPI’sWhat is Multi Factor Authentication (2 Factor Authorisation) and why should SMEs use it? Multi-factor authentication (MFA; two-factor authentication, or 2FA) is a multi-step account login process that requires users to enter more information than just a password. For example, along with the password, users might be asked to enter a code sent to their email, answer a secret question, or scan a fingerprint.
