Generative AI has had its fair share of challenges in the past few years due to copyright infringement lawsuits, AI safety and security concerns, and GPU shortages. However, AI tools are still showing considerable growth with one standout POE – Founded in 2022 POE has swiftly gained traction due to its innovative approach and user-friendly interface, enabling people to get answers to various topics in one place and has experienced a remarkable 600% increase in web visits over the past six months, increasing from 413K to a whopping 2.9 million in traffic as of April 2024.
ChatGPT still the most popular AI tool with nearly 40% traffic share
Unsurprisingly, ChatGPT, a chatbot tool by OpenAI that sparked AI popularity in 2022, is the most popular AI tool in 2024 by far, dominating the industry’s web visits with a 38% traffic share. This translates to over 110 million monthly web visits as of April.
This means that POE and other ChatGPT competitors still have some catching up to do regarding overall visitor numbers. Collectively, the rest of the top ten, including the likes of Gemini, character.ai, and DeepAI, make up a 10% share, less than a third of ChatGPT’s 111.6 million visitors.
Launched by the question-answer site Quora, Poe’s innovative approach integrates various chatbots and AI services where users can access everything in one place, a centralized AI platform, integrating AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, DALL-E, Anthropic, and many others.
