The US Department of State is offering a $10 Million USD (€9.29 Million) Reward to bring the co-conspirators (developers) of the notorious HIVE Ransomware variant to Justice.
In the announcement the US DoS said the reward was being offered for information leading to the location and identification of the individuals behind the “trans-national” Organised Cybercrime Group (OCG)
In addition to the $10 Million USD (€9.29 Million) Bounty the US DoS have also offered a further $5,000,000 USD (€4.64 Million) for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of any individual in any country conspiring to participate in or attempting to participate in Hive ransomware activity.
The Hive Ransomware variant has targeted victims in over 80 countries, including the United States. Beginning in late July 2022, the FBI penetrated Hive’s computer networks, obtained its decryption keys, and offered them to victims worldwide, preventing victims from having to pay up to $130 Million USD (€120+ Million) in ransoms demanded.
