THREAT INTEL:  SCANDAL – There’s a fine line between incompetence, negligence, and collusion

We live in unprecedented times where Vote Rigging, Corruption, Cyberattacks, and the loss of many lives have become daily news.

Cyberattacks are not solely used for Cybercrime, but for Money Laundering and rebalancing global wealth as never seen before. Like the blatant corruption that has been allowed to go on before, it is rarely, if ever attributed and simply passed off as some ‘Threat Actor, or aggressive Nation State. The narrative is always pre-set.”

There’s a fine line between incompetence, negligence, and collusion. These matters are rarely even considered. They are the Elephant in the room.

One only has to consider the Oxycontin crisis to see how many hundreds of thousands of people companies will kill without thought or consideration.

Doctors, unscrupulous salespeople, and executives are profiting from their lack of integrity and getting away with it. This phenomenon is, to a great extent, self inflicted.

The term Psychological Distancing comes to mind. You may be familiar with another term; De-humanizing as used in the Second World War.

DuPont, in addition to the Teflon/Dark Water scandal that Robert Bilott so brilliantly dedicated himself to and still does. DuPont, like other U.S. corporates were happy to fuel the Second World War economy by supplying the Third Reich with chemicals until September 1943, 2 years after the U.S. joined the war.

It only ended when the third Reich seized all DuPont’s assets in Reich territory.

Last weeks testimony to Congress by Brad Smith on recent Cyberattacks at Microsoft rewrote history so far as a scandal based on moral compasses and integrity which placed not just National Security at risk for $$$’s, but global security.

This ‘error of judgement’ will no doubt see a few ‘fall guys’ and promises of ‘we will do better.’ However, it is demonstrably evident that the ‘Special Relationship’ enjoyed, and exploited for global surveillance will see little more than rhetoric and barely, if any change.

$billions in contracts will continue with little, if any real security improvement. Wrists are undoubtedly feeling bruised…

Incompetence and negligence are barely mentioned, but a Nation State that governments and the populace can rally behind and condemn gets the vote, literally.

Like Enron, United Fruit, Blackwater, Theranos, Volkswagen, and many other scandals before, and no doubt many more to come, the ‘gamble’ corporations and their executives are willing to take for larger bank balances knows no limit, nor the loss of X number of lives they are willing to impact upon humanity so long as they can profit.

Welcome to the modern society where this is not simply permissible, but acceptable business tactics.
