DAILY CYBER INSIGHTS: Good Morning from Gibraltar – CYBERInsights for Monday, 15 January 2024 With the rightful indignation not only of the sub-Postmasters who were the victims but the rest of the nation as the biggest criminal conspiracy by a Government department ever unravels –  I have examined The Post Office itself and its Head honcho Paula Vennels (Ex-CBE) and even Royal Mail´s Adam Crozier.  I have also written about the HorizonIT System itself, but today I wanted to put the magnifying glass on Fujitsu the Japanese Developer and its third-party culpability. FUJITSU: A Japanese multinational information and communications technology equipment and services corporation, established in 1935 and headquartered in Tokyo. It is the world’s sixth-largest IT services provider by annual revenue, and the largest in Japan. On their corporate website they expound their Public Sector and Government “Solutions” [Definition: Solution = A way of solving a problem or dealing with a difficult situation when all other attempts have failed!]

It was their Horizon IT System has so far avoided the spotlight thus far, however it was their Software developed on behalf of HMGovernment the systems flaws resulted in more than 900 Post Office branch managers being convicted when HorizonIT made it appear that money had gone missing from their sites yet nowhere on their website is their any reference to Horizon IT the current scenario or an apology.

Even after the truth about the Horizon IT system fully emerged and The Post Office stopped prosecuting it SPMs for discrepancies Fujitsu is still one of HMGovernment´s strategic suppliers. and has gone on to win over 150 Contracts with HMGovernment valued by analysts at anything between €100 million and €2 billion government contracts since The Post Office stopped prosecuting its staff over financial discrepancies caused by the accounting software. Fujitsu’s products are deeply entrenched in the government’s IT infrastructure.

I asked Fujitsu´s Press Office for comment but they declined to reply. One can draw their own conclusions from the tech firms silence!
