1). MANAGED SERVICE PROVIDERS: The majority of UK businesses are keen to outsource cybersecurity operations. A recent survey conducted by Logpoint indicates that 80% of UK businesses are expected to outsource their Cybersecurity operations within the next two years. The study, which polled 1,762 executives, revealed that 28% of respondents anticipate their IT security teams will be managed by a third party. This figure builds on the existing 52% of UK businesses that already outsource this function. In contrast, the inclination to outsource cybersecurity operations are less pronounced in France and Germany. Currently, only 24% of French firms and 27% of German companies—where a significant majority maintain in-house Cybersecurity teams—plan to outsource within the same timeframe.

2). ATTACK MITIGATION: Recovering from a sustained Cyber Attack. The consequences of a successful Cyber-attack can be disastrous. From substantial financial loss to significant reputational damage, they can lead to untold operational disruption. Yet despite the clear and present danger, some businesses continue to deprioritise Cybersecurity, with a concerning 15% failing to invest in cyber security measures. Whether this is a calculated decision or a matter of managing risk, it leaves the businesses’ data and processes exposed to attack. For Smaller Businesses, implementing simple security procedures is a strong start. Some quick market research can also highlight that engaging with the right managed services provider (MSP) can be a cost-effective way of enhancing security and reducing cyber risk. Despite this, convincing business leaders to invest in Cyber defences can be an uphill battle. Turning a blind eye could lead to devastating consequences.

3). PHISHING & Understanding the Threat of Phishing. – CyberKPI: Phishing, a deceptive cybercrime technique, poses a significant threat to Small SMEs globally, impacting them financially and operationally. Small Businesses are particularly vulnerable to Phishing attacks due to their limited resources and often inadequate cybersecurity measures. Cybercriminals exploit the lack of sophisticated IT security infrastructure in SMEs to launch successful Phishing campaigns, leading to substantial financial losses and reputational damage.
