1). GDPR: EU GOVERNMENTS SIGN-OFF ON PROPOSED GDPR REFORMS – One of the biggest SME Cyber “hot potatoes” GDPR (The General Data Protection Regulations) The initial legislation is baffling to the majority of our readers & subscribers, a good selection of SMEs throughout the UK & Europe (EU) without amendments. Following the adoption by the Council of the general approach on 13 June 2024, the next legislative stage will involve negotiations with the European Parliament.

2). UK: NCSC UNVEILS PLANS FOR ACTIVE CYBER DEFENCE 2.0 – The UKs Cybersecurity organisation the NCSC (The National Cyber Security Centre) has unveiled plans to update its Active Cyber Defence program, refreshing the initiative to keep up with the evolving threat landscape. The organisation is looking to build on its existing programme by developing a new suite of services in line with the threat posed by modern commodity Cyberattacks.

3). WHAT IS GDPR & A Comprehensive Guide to Data Protection Regulations – CyberKPI: The GDPR is a data privacy regulation from Europe that grants rights to individuals in the EU/EEA over how their personal information gets processed, irrespective of whether the processing occurs online or offline, with a focus on SMEs. The regulation of GDPR spans across all sectors and industries, impacting both data controllers, who determine the purposes and means of processing personal data, and data processors.
