1). EUROPE: NIS2 COMPLIANCE DRAWS CLOSER – The implementation deadline for NIS2 is looming. The reworked Network and Information Systems Directive, or NIS2, which entered into force on 16 January 2023 and replaced the NIS1. A 21-month implementation period for NIS2 started on 16 January 2023. EU Member States have until 17 October 2024 to transpose the directive into their national laws. Businesses will need to understand the implementation regimes that have been enacted in order to ensure compliance.
2). UK: AI CYBER ACT – AI is not a futuristic concept, Not now – AI has already changed our lives without us even knowing and and generally for the better. It panders to the immediacy demanded by modern users and to that end the UK Department for Science, Innovation & Technology has unveiled a proposal that could reshape the landscape of AI development & deployment to ensure that the UKs digital infrastructure remains secure as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives and business operations.
3). WHAT IS CYBERSECURITY COMPLIANCE – Protecting Data and Building Trust – CyberKPI: Compliance is to adhere to standards and regulations set by law or authority groups. Organizations must achieve Compliance by establishing controls that protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, with a focus on SMEs. For instance, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe outlines specific requirements for the protection of personal data, making it vital for businesses to comply with these standards to avoid legal repercussions
